THESE ARE THE very first images of the Swedish Le Mans attack, the Koenigsegg LMP, designed for LMP 900 class.
Koenigsegg founder and –owner, Christian von Koenigsegg, says, the car is a design study, but we believe it is more than just a sketch. The open car is in most ways similar to the street going Koenigsegg CC, but the engine is an important difference:
Ford V8-engine powers the present road going Koenigsegg CC, but the coming LMP engine is a boxer 12 – even with supercharger. For years von Koenigsegg has planned to build a limited edition of the road car with a – yes, a flat 12.
An Italian company designed the originally engine for Formula 1 racing, but the project collapsed and now the engine belongs to Koenigsegg. The coming road going Koenigsegg B12 will easily produce more than 600 bhp, with supercharger for top speed 400 km/h down the Mulsanne straight the max. power will reach 700 bhp or more if necessary.
