Today the IAA opens
Today opens the 59th IAA, Internationale Automobil Ausstellung or the International Motor Show in Frankfurt. And it does open.
Tuesday right after the attack in New York the management-group considered cancelling the show. Wednesday the official motor show management announced that the show must go on.
And this morning, Friday, the doors opened to the public.
But the official opening show with German chancellor Gerhard Schröder as guest star Thursday was cancelled.
With a line of World, European and German premieres the IAA of this year are an important show. But no press speaker at any of the manufacturers represented at the show wanted to have any guess of what will happen to the trend after the New York attack.
At the show the trend is clear – bigger, stronger, more advanced, more image, more individuality. You notice the same trend among normal cars and among the sports cars.
