FARBOUD GT – A brand new name to notice. Just revealed at the Autosport Show in Birmingham the Farboud GT looks like a Porsche 911 GT1 from 98. But it isn’t – it’s British, it runs with an Audi engine and it’s much cheaper. Finally it is actually possible to buy the car – contrary to the GT1.

The new 200 mph / 325 km/h supercar is based on a steel and carbon fibre spaceframe with a twin turbo 420, 500 or 600 bhp Audi V6 powerplant. Kerb weight is 925-950 kgs and the performance? 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds, 0-100 in 9 seconds and an estimated top speed of 203 mph. That is 0-96 km/h in 3.3 sec., 0-160 km/h in 9 sec. and topspeed of 325 km/h.

The Farboud team has tested a line of different engines until they decided to launch the car with an AudiV6 twin turbo powerplant. Straight sixes, V8´s and even a V10 unit was considered, however the costs didn’t match the requirements to price.

There are three different size engine options from 420 bhp to 500 to 600 depending on requirements.
