LE MANS 2002 will make the debut of a new sports car, the Japanese owned, but British build YGK. The owner of YGK cars, Masahiro Yamasaki has just revealed the news, that he will challenge the French 24 hours with a team managed by former Le Mans-winner John Nielsen. Super John and young Dane Casper Elgaard will drive the car; at third driver will be found later.
The YGK is more than an exiting racing car at Le Mans, YGK is the name of a coming street legal sports car in McLaren F1 class. Designer is John Piper from Piper Designs, one of the creators of Jaguars very fast World Champion racecars from the 80´s.
Hayashi Yoshimasa, the brain behind Nissans LM-engine from 98, designs the YGK engine. The basis idea is V8 and two turbos, just like the Nissan Le Mans racer.
