OUR SPY PHOTOGRAPHERS snapped the coming MG-F a year before its introduction at the Paris Motor Show in September 2002.
The teardrop headlamp shape, previewed on MG’s recent sketch of the up-coming X80 flagship to be launched even before the MG-F facelift, will distance the code-named X40 from today’s model. Modifications at front and rear bumper plus a new grille design will give the MG-F a sportier look and bring it into line with the X80.
Together with the facelift of the roadster, MG will introduce a turbocharged 1.8-litre engine with 230 HP. The “ultimate” MG-F will need a beefier steel suspension, bigger brakes, an adopted chassis and various reinforcements to be able to handle the cars plus in power.
