Ford Motor Company announced the addition of a new Euro Stage IV emissions compatible version of the highly acclaimed 2.2-litre, 155PS Duratorq TDCi engine for the Ford Mondeo.
This new version of the high-performance 155PS engine meets the world's strictest exhaust emissions standard, Euro Stage IV, which becomes mandatory on January 1, 2006.
In addition the new engine now utilises an electrically-actuated variable turbocharger which improves responsiveness and driveability in the lower rev range. As a result there is a significant broadening of the useable power band, starting from just 1,250rpm.
With exhilarating performance and refined efficiency, Ford's 2.2-litre engine is such a success, it is now also available to order in all Zetec models as well as Ghia, Ghia X, Titanium, Titanium X and ST.
Optimum value for money is maintained since all versions of the Mondeo Duratorq TDCi 130PS and TDCi 115PS Euro Stage IV engines are now at price parity with the previous Stage III engines. Stage III is now available at new lower prices.
New to the Mondeo range is Ford's 90PS TDCi Stage IV common rail engine. Available on LX models, the 90PS engine lowers the price of diesel motoring to £16,300 on-the-road. |
