News: Even more awards to Tom Kristensen
4. Even more awards to Tom Kristensen

THE HONORS AND accolades continue to grow for Tom Kristensen, the 2002 champion of the American Le Mans Series and winner of the French Le Mans 24H. The 35-year-old driver for the Audi Sport North America team has been selected "Name of the Year" in his home country of Denmark, one of that nation's largest awards in the field of sports.

The "Name of the Year" award was established by the united Danish sports associations, the Danish Olympic Committee and Denmark’s largest newspaper, Jyllands-Posten. The award was presented to Kristensen in a ceremony by Brian Mikkelsen, the Danish Minister of Culture and Sports.

In September, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark honoured Kristensen with a private dinner aboard her royal ship Dannebrog. Earlier this month, he was named "Sportsman of the Year" for Scandinavia. He was named "Sportsman of the Year" for Denmark in 2001 and is a frontrunner for that award again this year.
Our 2003 guess for Tom is, that he will be back in the Audi in the AMLS, and driving a Bentley in the 24H in France.
