MIKA HÄKKINEN IS on his way back to racing – at least for one single race. From his early boyhood Mika has been driving of driving a true rally event. And that he will do when he is taken part in the Arctic Lapland Rally 24 – 25 January next year.
- Mika, what kind of adventure is this – from Formula One to rally?
- Finland is the home for me and for rally. I am very happy with the success of our rally Finish rally drivers – they really know how to drive on snow and ice. So being a Finn I am very happy to have the chance to take part in the Arctic rally.
It is not the first time Mika is sitting in a rally car. When Tommi Mäkinen started as factory driver for Nissan with the 4x4 Sunny GTI-R Tommi had a full days testing – that very day Mika was among the other drivers. On one of the stages Mika was only half a second behind the famous Tommi.
But Mika underlines this is not his return to racing for good. Just for this event.
