THE SEAT SALSA is a ‘multi-driving’ concept car, which has a swivel stick that allows the driver to switch between three modes: sport, comfort and city.
Each mode changes the driver’s position and alters the transmission (Tiptronic or automatic) according to the option selected.
A Seat spokesperson explains:
“Although it’s purely a concept car, some of the features should be carried over into the new Leon, which is expected to be launched in 2004. It’s been really popular with visitors to the stand because they say they can actually imagine it being on the road.”
The Salsa has many innovative features, including windscreen wipers that clear the whole windscreen, a reverse-gear sensor that activates a rear camera linked to a pop-down monitor and an automatic lighting sensor that adjusts the headlights according to conditions.
