Opel Steinmetz Funster
Winner of our Lightweight Day 2001, the 147 bhp powerful Opel Speedster is parked at Steinmetz stand in quite another version, the Funster. First of all you recognise the seasick green paint – but if you drive we are sure you will notice the power even more.
The concept car from one of the leading Opel tuners is turbo-charged and develops 220 bhp.
To avoid overheating of the engine bay the car is filled up with cooling systems and hoses – just look at the scoop from an old Formula One racing car, and then open the boot and you will find a bird’s nest of cooling hoses.
Wheels are 17 in up front and 18 in at the rear axle. It looks good – but we aren’t so sure it will make the car handle better.
