SUPERCARS ALWAYS HAVE an extra special ”something”. Italian supercars seem to have that bit more. Take the English McLaren F1 for example, it really is something special, but put it next to the Italian Edonis and suddenly the McLaren slides into a visual second place. The Edonis is not beautiful, no, but it is totally dramatic.
The Edonis has been produced by several of the people who were previously involved with the Bugatti EB110 project. The manufacturing company, B Engineering of Modena, Italy, say that they will only build 21 cars, to celebrate the 21st millennium. So an Edonis is an instant collectors piece. Power comes from a longitudinally mid-mounted twin turbocharged 3,760 cc V12 engine. Officially quoted at 715 hp, in fact it has been said that the engine is really producing around 750 hp. Torque is an amazing 804 Nm at 3500 rpm.
Recently B Engineering brought a car to England to take part in the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb event. Our man Mick Finn was to drive the car there, on the Sussex roads, in the evening sun, after Goodwood had finished. He knew that it was going to be an experience to remember. It was, but our man was in for another incredible experience first.
