   First drive: Hardtop or softtop?
10. Hardtop or softtop?

If you option for the $2,500.00 Hard Top I would recommend that you live in a climate with winter. The reason is that the T-Bird top with the famous porthole windows weighs 85lbs. and it takes 2-people to safely take it off and put it back on. It is simple to disengage but you don’t want to drop it on any part of the car.

My suggestion is to keep in on permanently during fall and winter and then put it in storage during Spring and Summer.
