First drive: Cornering with the Cooper S
3. Cornering with the Cooper S

AS PETER ALREADY described in his FD of the Cooper, it is a truly hairpin champion and mark my words: it’s only getting better with 163 bhp and 17 inch alloys (16 inch standard). You just have to think your way through a corner and the Cooper S will follow your thoughts right away. The Cooper S is very easy to handle through tight corners with its direct steering – almost neutral most times.

And when pushing it to the limit it behaves as one might expect from a front driven car – a controllable under steer. It is quite remarkable, that a concept as the Mini, is so much fun to drive. But on the other hand maybe not so surprisingly, taken the size and weight under consideration.
